Weeping Willow

weepingwillow.jpg

Betwixt the willow’s gnarled bowers,

Amid the chiming birdsong,

She sat akin with the fairy-ring,

Her soul wrapping ’round her melody:

“Cry, my willow lover, dear,

Caress me with your gentle tears.

Along the stream, way-by the meadow,

Cry, my willow, dear.”
