Purposeful Pages Link-Up(my 1st!) {August}

purposeful-pages-meme

Purposeful Pages is a monthly link-up designed to unite bloggers on answering questions about life, blogging, the Bible, writing, and books.

Today, I’ll be doing this fun, fun, fun link-up created by Hannah and Amanda! It’s my first time, but hopefully not my last. I really enjoyed doing this, so thank you so much, girls!

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

What book of the Bible has taught you the most this month?

I’ve been reading Matthew and Mark, but I have to say this passage from Hebrews has been really encouraging in many ways:

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”

Hebrews 12:1-3

There is nothing more beautiful than to be in a state of lowliness, and then experience the Lord’s spiritual renewal.

How would you react if you were in the positions of either Esther, if you’re a girl, or Daniel, if you’re a guy?

I honestly don’t know what I would do, but it’s kind of scary to think about. Being rather impulsive, I have an odd feeling I would do as God commanded Esther, and approach the king, even if that meant turning into jelly before I stepped into the throne room. 😉

If you could have a book character for a sibling, who would it be, and what makes you two alike?

No! Only one? Who do I choose?? Where do I begin??? This is too unfair. But I guess I’ll choose, for the sake of this link-up.

If I had to choose one character for a sibling, it would probably be… Rose from the Warrior’s Song by Judith Pella. She’s such a sweetheart, and we’re both the bubbly, curious, talkative types. And she’s stubborn and opinionated and dedicated. Just gotta love her. But she married Sky, who is my crush, so… there would only be some healthy sibling tension. 😛

If you’re a novelist, answer: How would your main character most likely spend his or her Friday night? If you’re not a novelist, answer: How would you most likely spend your Friday night?

Sadly, my main guy, Centarii, has not been fully developed yet, so I still don’t know too much about him. Maybe some physical training under the light of the moon, playing his guitar and singing under the stars, or sleeping after a day of hard work. I’m working on it. 🙂

As for what I would do on my Friday night, since I can’t clearly answer for Centarii, it depends on what my family is doing. We either have a movie planned, or we stay up talking too late so we can’t watch a movie, or we just stay up late doing nothing and I end up reading a book with my headphones blaring opera.

What are the top three books you’re just dying to read?

There are WAY too many! I can’t read this question and NOT have all the books I have not read pop into my mind! But. I have self control. So, here are three:

Exiles by Jaye L. Knight

This book can’t come out soon enough. I’m literally dying, little by little, inside with each day that goes by.

An Untamed Heart by Lauraine Snelling

I’m excited and curious to see what my friend is SO in love with. And historical fiction? Can’t go wrong with that.

The Huntress of Thornbeck Forest by Melanie Dickerson

Now this baby? I am just thrilled to read this(which is at my local library…!).

Can you briefly share the story behind your blog’s name?

When I was first thinking of my blog’s name, my church family was studying 1 Corinthians 13, which says Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things,” in verse 7. In a nutshell, I believe hope is basically believing in that coming day when Jesus will return. We don’t have to worry so much about the cares of this world and our present issues, so much as living for Christ and bringing Him glory. As Christians, we need to thrive on the hope that the Lord is working and He’s bringing us closer and closer to that awesome day.

What do you consider to be your blog’s “branding,” or signature? What sets your blog or social media platform apart from others?

Mmm… I’m really not sure. I think my blog is still a little too young to really have a signature or brand.  And to be honest, I really don’t know what I’m aiming for as far as all that goes.

Who are a few of your favorite bloggers?

Ah, now this is a “few” that I can do, just because I’m fairly closed minded when it comes to liking new bloggers. Anywhoo, here are a few:

Gabriela- A Heart Redeemed

Megan- Invisible World

WriteFury- Writefury

Taylor B.- Grace Did Much More Abound

If you could go on a road trip of your dreams, where would you go and who would you spend time with?

Hmm… by road trip, you mean I can’t go overseas into a third-world country, right? Just making sure.

My dream road trip would be to drive into an eternity of stars, and return home riding the Milky Way, with Jace. ❤️❤️❤️

Yep. I have pretty big dreams.

Using five words or less, tell a story.

He alone survived his death.

YAY! And that’s it. I hope you enjoyed this post!

  2. Book character for a sibling? Ummmmmmm, that is SO hard! I think Andrew Bjorkland from the Red River of the North series. He was SOOO cute when he was little! And when he grew up, he was so sweet! 😉
Are you serious Jazzy?! French fries or tater tots?!?! Why do you torment us with such hard questions! XD

  3. Thanks! And totally, you’re so encouraging and challenging while being hilarious and quirky. 🙂

OMW I know right??? After finishing Samara’s Peril, I felt empty inside, like… I have no more reason to live, no more Jace to read about until next year. 😥 Sad times. BUT I CAN’T WAIT FOR BOOK FOUR TO COME OUT=)

  4. Hey! Man, I still have to read those books! Someday soon, hopefully. 🙂
Hehehe, it’s definitely my thing to make life difficult for others, and enjoy it(although that’s not a very good quality…).
